Linton Maina has officially left Hannover 96 to sign for FC Köln.
FC Köln have completed the signing of Linton Maina on a free transfer from Hannover 96.

The 22-year-old winger has put pen to paper on a contract until 2025 with 'The Billy Goats'.

"Linton is a very quick player, who makes deep runs and is good in one-on-ones," commented FC Köln managing director Christian Keller.

"Therefore, he can bring important attacking elements into our game. Linton also has the qualities to play Bundesliga football in his position.

"Our task will be to develop him in such a way that he consistently reaches his potential."

Maina, who scored six goals and provided an assist in 27 2. Bundesliga games in the 2021/22 season, said:

"For me, it was clear for a while that I wanted to join FC. I had very good discussions with those responsible here and then decided very quickly on FC.

"I like the idea of how Steffen Baumgart plays football. I can't wait for the move and for things to get started."
