Pekarik extends Hertha stay

Right-back veteran Peter Pekarik has inked a new one-year deal with Hertha.
Hertha BSC have tied Peter Pekarik down to a new short-term contract.

The 35-year-old right-back veteran has extended his expiring contract until 2023.

"'Peka' once again proved just how important he is to Hertha BSC last season. He’s the consummate professional, ever-reliable and always acting in the interests of the club and the team. His attitude and mentality do us a lot of good, so I’m delighted that he’ll stay with us for another season," stated Hertha director of sport Fredi Bobic.

Having spent the last 10 seasons at Hertha, Pekarik is the club's longest-serving active player.
