Kicker Report: Frankfurt seek quick-strike €6.5 million deal for Alario

German footballing magazine Kicker reports that Eintracht Frankfurt have renewed their interest in possibly acquiring Leverkusen striker Lucas Alario.

Journalist Stephan von Nocks reports that the new talks are at an "advanced stage". A deal may be forthcoming relatively soon.
Despite some reports suggesting that Leverkusen's Argentine striker Lucas Alario may be headed back to South America this offseason, the still only 29-year-old attacker apparently isn't keen on closing the book on his European club career just yet. Stephan van Nocks of German footballing magazine Kicker reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are prepared to give him a chance to carry on in the Bundesliga.

Markus Krösche and the SGE administrative team were among the interested parties this past January when Leverkusen's procured of Sardar Azmoun rendered Alario expendable. Eintracht, according to some sources, came close to securing a transfer last summer. Alaraio's current contract with Germany's red company team (through 2024) allows him to depart this summer via a €6.5 million exit clause.

Seeing significantly less action under new B04 trainer Gerardo Seoane this season, Alario still scored seven goals in 33 appearances across all competitions in 2021/22. Since most of his work came via relief shifts, Alario averaged a goal ever 110 minutes. Van Nocks writes that Krösche and company are apparently very eager to get a deal done soon as the financial terms are favorable for a pounce.
