Report: Moukoko extension talks continue to stall

NRW daily "Ruhr Nachrichten" reports that, despite weeks of negotiations, talks on a contract extension for oft-injured BVB phenom Youssoufa Moukoko have remained at a standstill.
Whereas there was a great amount of hope at the beginning of the month that Borussia Dortmund might lock 17-year-striker Youssoufa Moukoko into a long-term deal, Westphalian newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten reports that over three weeks of negotiations between the parties have yielded nothing.

The report does note that the highly-talented, yet congenitally injured, young phenom has not lodged a transfer request for now. The youngster apparently wishes to see whether or not he will garner much playing time behind the newly-acquired Karim Adeyemi and the soon-to-be confirmed newcomer Sebastian Haller.

As reported back in May by German tabloid Sport Bild, Dortmund don't appear to be open to selling the teenager unless they can secure a buy-back clause in the deal. A loan out whereby Moukoko could secure more playing practice at another club cannot be completed unless Moukoko first extends his contract beyond the 2022/23 season.

RN notes that the talks continue to falter at the base level, meaning that none of these options have even been considered.
