Hertha confirm Ejuke signing

Hertha BSC officially confirmed the signing of Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke early Wednesday evening.
Twenty-four-year-old Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke will spend the next year with Germany's Charlottenburg capital city side. On Wednesday evening, Hertha made the rumored signing official. Like some other players making the switch to German football this year, the CSKA Moscow professional will take advantage of an UEFA legal ruling that allows him to nullify his current contract with his Russian club.

Ejuke thus comes to Hertha free-of-charge on a one-year-loan with no option to buy. The thrice capped Super Eagle has collected ten goals and eight assists in the Russian Premiership since moving from the Eredevisie ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

"Chidera has already proven himself in several European leagues," Hertha sporting CEO said of his new acquisition, who has also played in Norway, "He brings, technique, versatility and skills. We are convinced that he will augment our game."

"I'm looking forward to Hertha, to the Bundesliga and this special challenge," the player himself remarked in a statement accompanying the signing, "I want to do my part to help the club achieve its goals."
