After new Hertha BSC trainer Sandro Schwarz saw one of his preferred former players (Sebastian Szymański) sign with Feyenoord Rotterdam this week, Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that the capital city side's front office is currently preoccupied with bringing another one of Schwarz's old charges in on a free.

German footballing magazine Kicker reports that Schwarz had a mind to bring in Szymański in order to augment Hertha's attacking midfield presence. The 23-year-old Pollack excelled under Schwarz at Dynamo Moscow. After this option was taken away, focus now shifts to one of Schwarz's old Mainz players.

Jean Paul Boëtius remains one of the most valuable free agents on the market. The 28-year-old Dutch international retains an estimated market value of €4 million. Kicker writes that Hertha are seriously considering bringing in Boëtius on a free. Boëtius himself joined Mainz from Feyenoord to work under Schwarz in the autumn of 2018. The two worked together until Schwarz's sacking one year later.
