Mintzlaff: No agreement with Eberl yet
RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff insists there is no agreement with Max Eberl yet.
Oliver Mintzlaff has denied a report from Sky Germany that Max Eberl has reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to become their new sporting director from the 1st of December.
"Yes, we are interested in Max Eberl and yes, we have held initial talks. What, on the other hand, is being reported completely incorrectly is that there is already an agreement and a starting date," Mintzlaff told Bild.
At the end of January, Max Eberl stepped back as Gladbach sporting director, citing mental exhaustion as the reason for his resignation.
But even after his resignation, Eberl remains under contract with Gladbach through 2026.
"We have of course informed Gladbach about our interest, no more and no less has happened so far," said Mintzlaff.
