Max Kruse to stay at Wolfsburg after all

Wolfsburg attacker Max Kruse confirmed earlier today on social media that he will be staying at Wolfsburg.
The transfer window has closed and Max Kruse is still a Wolfsburg player. Earlier today, Kruse even stated on Instagram that, "No, I'm not changing. I know it's Deadline Day, but I'm staying in Wolfsburg."

It's widely known that the 34-year-old is unhappy with his role under new coach Niko Kovac. However, Kruse finally received his first starting nod of the season on Matchday 4 against RB Leipzig.

The Bundesliga journeyman hasn't recorded a goal or assist to begin the campaign, as Kovac is prioritizing Wolfsburg's younger attackers with Kruse's unwillingness to consistently press.

On his Twitch channel, Kruse has previously said that, "We must also be honest: It is very clear that I am not satisfied with my role. That's why I can't give a guarantee for anything."

His contract expires at the end of the season where a jump to the MLS is not out of the question.
