Hertha BSC will be without Jean-Paul Boëtius for the foreseeable future.

The 28-year-old has been diagnosed with a testicular tumor and will undergo surgery on Friday, the Bundesliga club have announced today.

"As awful as this news is initially, we are full of hope and confidence that Jean-Paul will get healthy again & return to the team as quickly as possible," said Hertha managing director for sport Fredi Bobic.

"Until then, he will receive from us all the support imaginable."
