Augsburg's Pepi thriving in newfound role at Groningen

Augsburg are more than pleased to see youngster Ricardo Pepi gaining confidence on loan in the Netherlands.
Ricardo Pepi, who failed to score or assist in 16 appearances at Augsburg, has four goals and an assist in just five appearances on loan at Dutch side Groningen. The 19-year-old American, who was surprisingly signed for €16 million in January, is starting to look like his old self.

Last week, Pepi stated that, "I feel like I have all the confidence in the world. I feel like I'm scoring goals with my individual performance and I feel good. It feels great. The support of the fans, I like the city very much. The team and the club really support me.”

The Bavarian club must be pleased with the forward's improved play. Pepi will return to Augsburg in the summer and his contract expires in 2026.
