RB Leipzig

Leipzig are currently unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions, with their last four matches all resulting in victory.

In their most recent encounter, Leipzig claimed a 3-1 away victory over Hoffenheim thanks to a Christopher Nkunku brace and a Dani Olmo strike. The result leaves Marco Rose's side in sixth place with two points separating them from the top four.

While the victory over Hoffenheim represented their first away win of the Bundesliga season, Leipzig are yet to lose a home league game this term. Since drawing 2-2 with FC Köln in their first home match of the season, Die Roten Bullen have won their last five home league games by a combined 14-2 scoreline.

Having dropped only two points in their opening six league matches at the Red Bull Arena this season, Leipzig will be confident of claiming a positive result on Wednesday, especially as they have never lost a home Bundesliga game against Freiburg.
Team News

Timo Werner, Konrad Laimer and Lukas Klostermann are all ruled out with ankle injuries. Leizpig are also without the services of Peter Gulacsi, while Mohamed Simakan is a doubt for Wednesday's contest.

Freiburg

Freiburg have proven to be a tough team to beat after losing only two of their 21 games in all competitions this season, while they are also unbeaten in their previous six competitive games.

Christian Streich's side have won their last three Bundesliga matches by a 2-0 scoreline. In Sunday's home meeting with Köln, second half strikes from Jeong Woo-yeong and Michael Gregoritsch secured Freiburg all three points.

As a result of their impressive form, Freiburg occupy second place in the Bundesliga, and they are only one point adrift of league leaders Bayern Munich.

While Freiburg have never beaten RB Leipzig in a Bundesliga away game, they can take inspiration from the fact that they currently have the joint-best away record in the topflight after picking up 14 points from their seven away matches.

The visitors will be unable to call upon Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Jonathan Schmid, Kimberly Ezekwem and Manuel Gulde.
