Lars Windhorst has confirmed that he has agreed to sell his 64.7 percent stake in Hertha BSC to U.S. investment firm 777 Partners.
"777 Partners, a strategic investor in soccer clubs worldwide, and Tennor Holding have agreed that 777 Partners will acquire Tennor's 64.7 percent stake in Hertha BSC GmbH & Co KGaA," read a statement from Tennor.
"We are giving our Hertha shares to an internationally known football investor with a long experience. Hertha BSC can benefit greatly from this new shareholder," said Lars Windhorst.
"It brings not only financial strength, but also a lot of professional experience and an impressive network of international football clubs. The entry of 777 Partners is a step towards a successful future for Hertha BSC."
"The transaction will be fully consummated following approval by Hertha BSC, which has a contractual right of first refusal on the shares," Tennor further wrote.
Hertha put out a statement on the matter on Wednesday, stating:
"We are pleased with this news. Everything else will now be handled according to our agreement."
