Müller hints at international retirement after World Cup exit
Thomas Müller spoke to the German fans after tonight's game against Costa Rica, admitting that he may have played for his country for the last time.
Germany and Bayern Munich forward Thomas Müller has admitted he could retire from international football after crashing out of the World Cup.
Despite beating Costa Rica 4-2 in their last group stage game tonight, Müller and Germany were eliminated from the World Cup due to a worse goal difference than Spain.
In a post-match interview, Müller admitted that tonight's game could be his last for Germany.
"If that was my last game for Germany, a few words to the German fans: It was a tremendous pleasure," he said.
"Thank you very much. I always tried to show heart on the pitch. Sometimes there were tears of joy, sometimes pain.
"I did it with love. I need to think about everything else now."
