A rumored transfer involving South Korean attacker Don-Jun Lee was officially confirmed on Thursday morning. Hertha BSC announced that the winger they acquired just under a year ago would be heading back to his home country. The 25-year-old moves to eonbuk Hyundai Motors FC after having made just four appearances in a Bundesliga tricot.

"It's a shame that Dong-Jun has unfortunately never been able to permanently show his potential at Hertha BSC due to various injuries," Hertha sporting CEO Fredi Bobic noted in a statement released by the club, "together with him, the hope that he would take off in sporting terms with us and that he would thereby also remain part of the national team."

Lee did earn four caps for the Taeguk Warriors in his brief time with his German club. Unfortunately, the Busan native hasn't made an appearance for either club or country since March of 2021. Hertha paid a reported €800,000 to sign the player from Ulsan Hyundai motors last January. Information about how much money the German club managed to recoup wasn't immediately available.
