A long rumored transfer is apparently finalized. Germany's Kicker magazine cites its own internal sources to claim that Hertha striker Davie Selke is all set to sign to 1. FC Köln. All sides involved have reportedly worked out a transfer fee for the 27-year-old former German youth international, who will depart Germany's Charlottenburg capital-city-side six months ahead of the expiration of his contract.

Selke current estimated market worth lies at only €1.8 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. The Schondorf native was once considered a €20 million forward during his peak years. Selke's worth has been nosediving since the spring of 2019. He's scored only six league goals in the last three-and-a-half seasons after netting 29 tallies in the first six years of his career.

Selke famously had problems finding his way into the starting XI of relegation-threatened SV Werder Bremen during an extended loan spell during the Florian Kohfeldt years. Since returning to Hertha in the summer of 2021, he's made just 11 league starts. It can be assumed that he will be given a fresh start in the cathedral city.

Current Köln lead strikers Sargis Adamyan and Steffen Tigges have managed just four league goals between them this year. Alternatives Florian Dietz and Sebastian Andersson remain out with long-term injuries.
