The former Mainz professional, currently maintaining a estimated market worth of €2 million in the latest transfermarkt listings, could be had for a relatively modest transfer fee. Cash-strapped Bochum are nevertheless, according to a report in Germany's Kicker magazine, still trying to work out a much cheaper loan-deal.
From Bochum's point of view, acquiring Malong would make a great deal of sense. The squad requires additional help in midfield. Malong could conceivably complement current captain Anthony Losilla well as part of a double-six-setup. The Revierklub could urgently use someone with Bundesliga experience capable of contributing with little delay.
Malong made a total of 68 Bundesliga appearances for Mainz.
