FC Schalke 04 have obtained a defensive reinforcement in the form of 61-times-capped Finland fullback Jere Uronen. The 28-year-old is set to join the Königsblauen on a six-month-loan-deal from Ligue 1 side Stade Brest. Assuming the defender passes a medical tomorrow, he will be unveiled as a January addition.

Germany's Kicker magazine reports that Schalke have secured an non-compulsory purchase option that the club may exercise whether they find themselves relegated from the Bundesliga or not. The left-back, perhaps best known for his successful years competing in Europe with K.R.C Genk, maintains an estimated market value of €1 million.
