Mittelstädt now expected to stay at Hertha after all

After a U-turn, Maximilian Mittelstädt is now likely to stay at Hertha and sign a new deal, as reported by Kicker.
Towards the end of 2022, Maximilian Mittelstädt appeared to be on his way away from Hertha BSC, with reports claiming he attracted interest from Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen and Stuttgart.

However, the 25-year-old now looks likely to stay after all, with Kicker reporting that an extension of his contract, which expires in the summer, is "now a very realistic option again".

Mittelstädt has spent his entire career at Hertha BSC, making a total of 147 appearances with four goals and 19 assists to his name.

He has been limited to just seven games this season, but could have a bigger role to play in the future, as it's been announced that Marvin Plattenhardt, his competitor for the left-back position, will leave the club this summer.
