Katterbach set for HSV switch

Hamburger SV have confirmed that Noah Katterbach is set to join on loan from FC Köln.
FC Köln left-back Noah Katterbach is set to join Hamburger SV on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joined HSV training this morning with permission to play as a guest, with only the final details left to be sorted out.

Katterbach has been playing on loan for Swiss outfit FC Basel since January 2022 on a deal that was originally valid until the summer, but which will not be terminated.

"Due to the vacancy that has arisen, we wanted to find a quick, but above all good solution at the left-back position. With Noah Katterbach, we are now gaining a player who, with his skills, offers optimal conditions to fulfil our complex requirement profile. His playing strength in the build-up and his very good training will help us just as much as his considerable experience, which he already brings with him despite his young age," commented HSV board member Jonas Boldt.

Katterbach added:

"HSV convinced me very quickly to make the switch. I'm looking forward to getting started straight away and getting to know the team on and off the pitch, and I want to contribute my strengths to our joint success."
