Thomas Müller on his substitute role: "I'm eager for minutes"

When asked about his role as a substitute, Thomas Müller said "everyone has to subordinate themselves to the team," but also underlined that he's "eager for minutes".
Thomas Müller had to settle for the bench as Bayern Munich drew 1-1 against RB Leipzig in their first game of 2023.

After replacing Serge Gnabry with just seven minutes left to play, the 33-year-old spoke to TZ about his substitute role.

"I'm in good contact with the coach. The most important thing is that we win as a team," he told the newspaper (via iMiaSanMia).

"Everyone has to subordinate themselves to the team - that of course also applies to me. Nevertheless, I'm eager for minutes."

Müller is expected to start on the bench once more against FC Köln tomorrow, with Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting likely to keep their starting spots.
