French striker Ludovic Ajorque's reported upon new contract to play football at the Mainzer Bruchweg runs through 2026. The Rheinhessen officially unveiled their new striker on Tuesday evening,l leaving the details of the transfer fee paid to Racing Strasbourg a mystery for now. No German media outlets are reporting upon the fee yet, but one can assume that it is sizable. The 28-year-old maintains an estimated market worth of €11 million.

"This transfer agreement was preceded by very long, intensive talks and we would like to thank Racing Strasbourg for the confidential, fair negotiations," Mainz Sporting CEO Christian Heidel remarked in a statement released by the Nullfünfter, "and we are very pleased to have acquired one of our long-term targets."

"Ludovic is not a short-term solution," FSV head-coach Bo Svensson added, "He will make us better in the long-term. He has a lot of power due to his size, gives us not only physicality but also aerial prowess within the box, and still likes to work against the ball. We're looking forward to him bringing his strengths to our game in the future."

"I am very happy to be part of this club," the player himself added, "Mainz 05 is a great fit for me in terms of playing style, but also in terms of values. I have followed them more often than others, also because my teammate Anthony Caci moved here. He's a good friend and set up a lot of goals for me back then - we want to continue that in the Bundesliga,"

Ajorque has scored just once for Racing this season, but completed a 12-goal (and 20 scorer point) haul last year. In the 2020/21 season, Ajorque also collected 20 scorer points via 16 tallies and four assists in Ligue 1. The Reunion-native has collected a total of 71 total goals across all competitions for both Strasbourg and Clermont Foot.
