Xabi Alonso has allayed injury fears surrounding Jeremie Frimpong after Bayer Leverkusen's 4-1 victory over Hertha BSC.

The right-back provided an assist and scored before being forced off in the 29th minute with a muscle problem.

Fortunately for Leverkusen, it doesn't appear that Frimpong suffered a serious injury.

"He felt something, but it's not a structural injury," said Xabi Alonso, who hopes Frimpong will be fit for Thursday's Europa League clash against Ferencvárosi.

"He needs a bit of rest and hopefully it won't be a problem for Thursday."
