Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus is close to signing a one-year contract extension, according to Bild.

According to the German tabloid, the captain is willing to accept a significant pay cut in order to remain with BVB beyond the end of the season.

Reus' current salary of twelve million euros, which makes him BVB's top earner, will be drastically reduced.

With bonus payments and performance bonuses, the 33-year-old can earn a maximum of seven million euros, Bild claims.

Reus has played for the club since 2012.
