Thuram's return this season highly doubtful
Marcus Thuram has likely played his final match in a Borussia Mönchengladbach tricot.
The injury that led to Gladbach striker Marcus Thuram getting subbed off late in Sunday's 0-1 loss to 1. FC Union Berlin has now been confirmed to be a muscle tear in the 25-year-old's adductor. The nature of such an injury ordinarily requires six to eight weeks recovery time, effectively ending the French attackers season and Gladbach career.
Thuram's departure on a free this summer has already been confirmed by both club and player. The 10-times-capped-international scored 16 goals and chipped in a further seven assists for the foals across all competitions this season. Since joining Gladbach from En Avant Guingamp ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, Thuram netted 44 goals for his club in league, cup, and European competition.
