Official: Stindl returns to Karlsruhe

Lars Stindl will re-join his former club Karlsruher SC when his Gladbach contract expires this summer.

13 years after leaving his youth club, Lars Stindl returns to Karlsruher SC.

The 2. Bundesliga side confirmed today that the current Gladbach captain will be back on a free transfer this summer after agreeing a one-year contract.

"I am very happy to come back home with my family and to play for KSC, the club where it all started, again after my time at Borussia Mönchengladbach," Stindl, 34, is quoted as saying.

KSC head coach Christian Eichner commented:

"With Lars Stindl, we are signing an outstanding footballer who has shown his class in the Bundesliga and on the international stage for many years.

"We are getting a player who is versatile in attack and who will help us tremendously with his class. As a head coach, it's great to have a player like that in the squad going forward."

Stindl has made 371 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 82 goals and assisting 70.
