While it wasn't exactly something that was a secret in German footballing circles , Jonathan Tah's exit from Germany's red company team should be treated as a forgone conclusion at this point. This is according to highly reliable German football journalist Stephan van Nocks of the country's preeminent footballing publication.

In an article appearing on Kicker's website today, van Nocks writes that the 27-year-old has already informed his club of his future plans this summer. The 16-times-capped German international will be leaving Leverkusen via a release clause in his current contract. Van Nocks reports that the specific amount of this clause remains unknown, but does total less than Tah's €20 million current estimated market worth.

Tah has long been targeting a Premier League switch and has been linked with West Ham United. According to van Nocks, the player opted to make his intentions clear to his club now so as to avoid any potential distraction during the team's final four league fixtures and the present Europa League run. Official confirmation from the club is still pending.
