Rose hopeful of positive "final few weeks" with Nkunku

Speaking at a Saturday presser, RB Leipzig trainer Marco Rose expressed the hope that Christopher Nkunku's recent league goal will help the Frenchman bring his tenure with his current club to a positive conclusion.
Perhaps the only person more pleased than the player himself with Christopher Nkunku's first goal of the new calendar year yesterday was the player's coach. RB Leipzig trainer Marco Rose let it be known during a Sunday presser that he was overjoyed for the Frenchman after a season featuring two major injuries led to Nkunku losing out on the Bundesliga goal-scoring title and a chance to represent his country at the World Cup.

Rose also let it be known - though it's not even close to being a secret - that the 25-year-old attacker would be departing Saxony this offseason for greener pastures. After four successful seasons with Leipzig, Nkunku's transfer to Chelsea F.C. should be officially confirmed before too long. Rose expressed the hope that the long-term cooperation would come to a successful conclusion.

"[The goal] should give him a boost for his final few weeks here with us," Rose said, "He's obviously still committed to helping us achieve our objectives."
