Davies' agent confirms break off of contract talks, cites "chaotic time at Bayern"
Alphonso Davies' agent has confirmed to Germany's main sporting tabloid that all contract extension negotiations between FC Bayern München and his client have been halted due to the current administrative situation.
Reports emerging late last week about the state of contract extension talks between Alphonso Davies and FC Bayern München suggested that the Canadian international did not wish to sign a new contract with his Bavarian club if Bayern found themselves without a regular sporting director. Now that this has come to pass, the 22-year-old's agent has told Germany's main that all talks have been suspended.
Nedal Huoseh of the agency "ATG Sports" confided in an interview with Germany's "Sport Bild" that he wanted a direct negotiating partner to work with before considering an extension for Davies. The €70-million-valued player's current deal expires at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
"It's a chaotic time currently at FC Bayern," Huoseh told Bild, I'm not sure what's going on and who we will be dealing with. There seems to be too much instability and uncertainty about the direction of the club. Maybe it's better if we wait until 2024 and see how things develop with the club before moving on to a new contract."
