Lienhart signs Freiburg extension
Philipp Lienhart has signed a new contract with SC Freiburg.
SC Freiburg have confirmed the extension of Philipp Lienhart's contract.
Lienhart admitted in a few months ago that he was considering his future, but has now committed himself to Freiburg.
As usual with Freiburg, the club did not disclose any details about the length of the new contract.
"Philipp is a solid pillar in our team. He's a good fit both athletically and as a person," said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach.
"Because of his high quality and intelligence, he can fill any position in our different defensive formations. We are very happy that we can continue on this path together.
Philipp Lienhart himself is quoted as saying:
"SC Freiburg has become my soccer home over the past few years. I am very proud of my development as a player, but also of all of us as a team. The story is not over yet. I'm very much looking forward to continuing to be a part of this group and to be back in full force next season.
