Report: USMNT star Aaronson set for switch to Union Berlin

Brenden Aaronson appears set to join younger brother Paxten (of Eintracht Frankfurt) in the German Bundesliga. Online sporting journal "The Athletic" reports that German Champions' League representatives 1. FC Union Berlin are on the verge of acquiring the 22-year-old on loan from relegated EPL side Leeds United. The 32-times-capped international will become the most valued player on Union's roster.
The elder Aaronson brother moved from RB Salzburg to Leeds for a record €32.8 million sum just one year ago. He remains under contract with his Yorkshire club through 2027, but will not have to spend next season in the EFL Championship. Instead, the Philadelphia Union academy man can play under the lights in the UCL.
Aaronson's production numbers for Leeds last year (one goal and three assists) did lead to a slight downgrading in his estimated market worth. At €25 million, he will nevertheless be the highest caliber player on the Köpenick side's roster. Sheraldo Becker and Danilho Doekhi (both with estimated market worths of €17 million) are the only other players who come close.
