Having already lost their best defender to FC Augsburg, newly promoted Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98 may be in danger of forfeiting their leading goal-scorer to the very same club. Germany's Kicker Magazine reported that the Fuggerstädter were in talks to acquire striker Phillip Tietz yesterday. A little later in the evening, Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid claimed that the 25-year-old had agreed to terms with the Bavarian club.

Tietz played a vital role in Darmstadt's promotion campaign last season, netting 12 goals and registering five assists. No one else on the roster of "die Lilien" came close to matching Tietz's goal-scoring numbers. Midfielder Braydon Manu netted seven tallies whilst a host of other players contributed three to four goals apiece. The German tabloid reports that Augsburg are presently offering the SV a €3 million transfer fee.

Augsburg themselves recently finalized the purchase of their leading-goalscorer from the 2022/23 campaign, German international Mërgim Berisha. It is nevertheless widely reported that both club and player have mutually agreed on a parting-of-company this summer. Augsburg have already secured some additional attacking assistance at the striker position in the form of Union Berlin's Sven Michel.
