Confirmed: Union take elder Aaronson brother on loan

Union Berlin confirmed that star American attacker Brenden Aaronson will be playing in Köpenick on loan next season.
Union Berlin's largest transfer coup of the summer is now official. USMNT star Brenden Aaronson will join U.S. compatriot Jordan Siebatcheu in Köpenick next season. The attacking midfielder also joins his highly touted brother Paxten (of Eintracht Frankfurt) in German football. The elder Aaronson brother's one-year-loan arrangement from relegated EPL side Leeds United was confirmed on Sunday afternoon.

"Brenden's commitment has made us very happy," FCU sporting director Oliver Ruhnert noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "he is a type of player that we haven't hitherto had and will greatly assist our attacking game. Despite his young age, he already has a lot of international experience and will serve as a top level complement to our side."

"Union's path and success in recent years did not go unnoticed in the USA, Austria or England," the 29-times-capped international (listing not only the country he represents but also the two in which he's most recently played club football) added, The fact that I am now here and can also play with Union in the Champions League, I would not have believed a year ago. I'm looking forward to the year ahead with joy and confidence."
