Augsburg managing director for sport Stefan Reuter has confirmed that Felix Uduokhai has turned down an offer to extend his contract beyond 2024.

"We made Felix an offer to extend his contract, as we would have liked to see him at Augsburg for the long term. However, he has informed us that he will not be renewing his contract. We have to accept this decision," Reuter is quoted as saying by the newspaper.

If Augsburg receive a financially satisfactory offer this summer, a premature departure is conceivable.

"For us, it's always a balancing act between sporting quality, which you might give away, and economic necessity," Reuter said of a possible sale.
