Confirmed: Bochum's Holtmann loaned out to Antalyaspor

The loan-out of VfL Bochum's Gerrit Holtmann to Turkey's Antalyaspor was confirmed late yesterday. 

German attacker Gerrit Holtmann is off to spend the season working under Bundesliga veteran Nuri Sahin at Antalyaspor in Turkey. A rumored loan-out for the 28-year-old Bremen-native was confirmed yesterday. The pacey winger - scorer of one of the 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign's most memorable goals - turned in a transfer request after seeing his playing time dramatically reduced under new VfL Bochum trainer Thomas Letsch last season.

The Turkish club confirmed that they had secured a purchase option for "one of the fastest wingers in Europe" while confirming the transaction on Saturday evening. Holtammn remains under contract with his German club through the end of the 2024/25 season. In a statement accompanying the signing, Holtmann thanked his German club for according him the opportunity to play abroad for the first time in his professional career.
