Germany's cathedral city side have completed a rumored transfer aimed at upgrading their attack. Germany U21 striker Faride Alidou will spend the season in Köln on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt. All major German footballing media outlets confirm earlier reports that a complex arrangement that gives Köln a purchase option, yet also reserves a buyback clause for Frankfurt is included in the deal.

The 22-year-old did not rise beyond the role of a sub for Eintracht last season, but continued to start for the German U21 national team. SGE sporting executive Tim Hardung emphasized that the RheinMain club still believed in the player's potential and hoped to welcome him back soon. Köln sporting director Christian Keller lauded Alidou's potential as well and said that the club hoped to help him continue his development.

"FC gave me an honest perspective during the talks and told me what I have to work on to assert myself as a Bundesliga player," Audio himself said in a statement, "The fact that the club relies on young players has already been seen in the last two seasons. That was important to me, gives me a good feeling and at the same time is great motivation to play here."
