FC Sturm Graz have confirmed that Sturm Graz defender Gregory Wüthrich did not pass his medical today and, as a result, will not be joining the FC Augsburg. Sturm Graz sporting director Andreas Schicker has confirmed this in a statement. The Austrian Bundesliga sporting executive noted that Augsburg declined to take the player based on "long-term risks" that will not affect his ability to continue playing.

"These were not new findings," Schicker noted in the statement, "We expect him to be in training tomorrow as usual. We know that it was Gregory's dream to play in a top European league and did not wish to put any obstacles in his way. We wanted to make this dream possible for him and he's extremely bitter about the news. From a sporting point of view, we're glad he's still with us."
