Kampl reflects on captaincy in Orban's absence

Kevin Kampl has explained how he feels about wearing the captain's armband for RB Leipzig in Willi Orban's absence.
With Willi Orban out with an injury, Kevin Lampl will wear the captain's armband for RB Leipzig when they take on Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, just as he did in Saturday's 3-0 win over Augsburg.

At the pre-match press conference, the Slovenian midfielder shared his thoughts on the responsibility.

"Of course I'd rather have Willi playing and him as captain because he's important to us as a person and as a player. I'll take the responsibility and try to do my best both on and off the field. I'm always in contact with him and we talk about these things," Kampl said.

"It's certainly nothing new for me because I've worn the armband before. But of course I'm happy to have the trust of the team and the coach.

Kampl has been playing for Leipzig since 2017.
