Bochum vs. Gladbach preview: Both sides searching for first win

Gladbach have an away test on Matchday 6 against a Bochum side who are returning home following a brutal showing against Bayern.

Bochum

Bochum are coming off a rout in Munich that many teams in the Bundesliga experience once a season. They have claimed a point from three matches thus far, but Bochum still sit bottom in the goals scored and goals conceded categories.

Philipp Hofmann is expected to be back in the starting lineup, while Cristian Gamboa and Keven Schlotterbeck could feature from the off as well. Thomas Letsch has claimed most of his points with Bochum at home and he’s likely to stick to his 3-5-2 formation.

In his presser, Letsch shared, “Gladbach need points, we need points. We have a home game and I don't really care about the opponent. We want to show our Vonovia Ruhrstadion face again and spark euphoria.”

Michael Esser, Moritz-Broni Kwarteng, Lys Mousset, Jordi Osei-Tutu, and Mohammed Tolba are out.

Gladbach

Gladbach aren’t off to the start they envisioned and Gerardo Seoane is still searching for his maiden league win in charge of the Foals. Manu Kone is luckily back to full fitness and could play 90 minutes this week, while Jordan should start again up front.

Florian Neuhaus has surprisingly started on the bench in their last two contests, which has given way to youngster Rocco Reitz. Gladbach must take advantage of a gettable upcoming schedule with their next matches following Bochum against Mainz, Köln, and Heidenheim.

Seoane stated, "It'll be a challenging task. When I look at Bochum in their previous home games, I see a team that can make it hard for any opposition. We'll have to get stuck in, battle hard and impose our playing style on the opponent."
Team News

Despite an eye issue, Alassane Plea is expected to play on Saturday. Tomas Cvancara is questionable, while Stefan Lainer and Jonas Omlin remain unavailable.
