Eberl likely to take Bayern role after Leipzig exit
Following his exit from RB Leipzig, Max Eberl is looking increasingly likely to be named new board member for sport at Bayern Munich.
Speculation that Max Eberl could take over as Bayern Munich's sporting director has intensified after he was relieved of his duties as RB Leipzig's managing director for sport last week.
RB Leipzig announced the decision before their 2-2 draw with Bayern, citing a lack of commitment to the club.
Eberl is now said to be ready to take on the role as Bayern's board member for sport, which has been vacant since the sacking of Hasan Salihamidzic at the end of last season.
This is reported by both Sky Germany and Sport1, who claim that Bayern would have to pay a compensation fee of 5 million euros to get Eberl out of his contract with RB Leipzig.
If Eberl were to join Bayern, he would work together with new sporting director Christoph Freund, who would reportedly welcome the former Gladbach boss' arrival.
