Borussia Dortmund will have no time to dwell on Saturday's heartbreaking 0-4 defeat to Bayern Munich as they resume their Champions League campaign at home to Newcastle United on Tuesday evening.

"Saturday was very disappointing. We had big plans. On Sunday, we were very honest with each other and addressed the mistakes to put a tick in the box. Now the next task awaits us tomorrow," said BVB coach Edin Terzic at his pre-match press conference.

Newcastle are coming off two strong performances in the Premier League which saw them beat Manchester United and Arsenal, but Dortmund have shown that they can overcome them, having won 1-0 at St James' Park a few weeks ago.

"We don't need any warning about Newcastle. We know how good they are. They beat Man Utd and Arsenal recently. They weren't happy with their performance in the first leg. It will be an open and intense game," said Terzic.

BVB captain Emre Can and left-back Ramy Bensebaini are both struggling with injuries, with the former in particular unlikely to be fit in time for the game.

Newcastle's injury list has grown to include Dan Burn and Jacob Murphy after the pair were forced off against Arsenal.
