Guerreiro takes a swipe at Dortmund

Raphael Guerreiro has lashed out at former club Borussia Dortmund, saying there is a "different mentality" at Bayern Munich.
After seven years at Borussia Dortmund, Raphael Guerreiro controversially left the Black and Yellows to join Bayern Munich on a free transfer last summer.

Reflecting on his time with the German champions so far in an interview with BeIN Sports, Guerreiro has taken a swipe at his former club, saying that Bayern are on a different level mentality-wise.

"I immediately felt that Bayern is a different club with a different mentality," said Guerreiro, who has just returned from muscle problems that have kept him out for most of the season so far.

"I got injured after 10 days of training, so I didn't get the start I was hoping for. But I'm with the team regularly, so the integration went well. Now I'm back and I'm sure things will go in the right direction, because when you join a new club you want to be available and perform straight away."

The left-back is delighted to be reunited with Thomas Tuchel, who he also played under at Dortmund.

"I know him and I know his methods. He's also progressed with the clubs he's coached after Dortmund. I'm in Munich now because of him, he was one of several reasons.

Asked how Tuchel has changed since their time together at Dortmund, Guerreiro replied:

"Dortmund was his first big experience. I think he was stricter then. Now he gives his players more freedom, while still maintaining the basics on the pitch. I think that makes a difference."
