Report: Manchester United join race for Guirassy

Britain's national daily The Guardian" reports that English record champions Manchester United have made contact with Serhou Guirassy's agent about a possible winter transfer.
Britain's "The Guardian" newspaper adds Manchester United to the long list of clubs interested in acquiring VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy. According to a report published in the paper on Friday, the English Red Devils have contacted Guirassy's agent about a possible January move.

Man U head-coach Erik ten Hag is evidently keen on procuring some competition to shake up his striking corps. Seven natural forwards on ten Hag's have scored a paltry total of just four league goals for the currently 6th-placed EPL side.

Rumors concerning Guirassy's departure will doubtless continue to swirl throughout the coming eight weeks. Concurring German media reports suggest that a release clause inserted into his contract when he signed with Stuttgart permanently means the Guinean could be had for as little as €20 million.

Guirassy actually had two release clauses built into his VfB deal. One, which has already expired, would have enabled him to depart during the summer transfer window. The 27-year-old nevertheless made certain that he could move on in the subsequent window as well.

Guirassy's estimated market worth has quadrupled to €40 million since the start of the season. The existence of the dual clauses strongly suggests that the player does wish to move up to a larger club as soon as possible. Recent statements from Guirassy appear to suggest this as well.
