Stuttgart boss firmly expects Guirassy to stay
Alexander Wehrle doesn't expect Serhou Guirassy to leave Stuttgart in January and says the striker feels very comfortable at the club.
VfB Stuttgart chairman Alexander Wehrle has responded to persistent speculation linking Sebastian Guirassy with a move away from the club in January.
Despite the highly-rated forward having a reported release clause of just €17.5 million that can be triggered when the transfer window opens, Wehrle is adamant that he will remain at the club.
"Serhou opted for VfB Stuttgart in the summer, even though he had offers from clubs abroad where he could have earned considerably more money," Wehrle told Bild.
"He feels at home here with his family and plays an important role in the team.
"He really appreciates that. First and foremost, he wants to play football and score goals. Serhou wants to play in a team that works. He always emphasizes in conversations that he feels very comfortable at VfB."
Wehrle added that he "currently sees no signs" pointing to anything other than a stay in January.
