Official: Van de Beek joins Frankfurt on loan

Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek's six-month loan-out to Eintracht Frankfurt has been confirmed.
Donny van de Beek's loan-out to Eintracht Frankfurt has been confirmed. The central midfielder heads to Germany's RheinMain metropolis on a six-month-loan. All German media sources reporting on the transaction claim that the arrangement contains a purchase option. Sky Germany and online sports journal "The Athletic" report upon a figure in the €10-11 million range. A loan fee for the 19-times capped international is, according to all sources, also part of the deal.

Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid reports that the deal was finally made possible via an agreement that will see the German club pay approximately 60 percent of Van de Beek's salary. Van de Beek once moved to Manchester United on a €39 million deal in 2020, yet has been unable to establish himself with the Red Devils mostly due to injury. In the current campaign, the 26-year-old has only made two brief relief appearances.

"Donny van de Beek fits in perfectly with our style of play and is an important piece of the puzzle for our team," SGE personnel chief Markus Krösche noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "He brings a wealth of international experience with him, which will benefit our young players. Donny exemplifies a goal-scoring threat and should, above all, get our attackers into promising positions."
