Liverpool and Tottenham reported to be monitoring Itakura

Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool and Tottenham are among the clubs interested in Gladbach's Ko Itakura.
Borussia Mönchengladbach center back Ko Itakura has attracted the interest of several European top clubs, according to Fabrizio Romano.

According to the Italian transfer market insider, Liverpool and Tottenham are among the clubs keeping tabs on the Japanese defender.

Liverpool are believed to have sent scouts to watch him on a number of occasions, while Tottenham manager Ante Postecoglou was already keen to sign the 26-year-old when he was in charge of Celtic.

Itakura has spent much of this season on the sidelines with an ankle injury that has sidelined him since October and limited him to eight appearances in all competitions.

He made 25 appearances for the Fohlen last season.
