Towards the end of December, reports began to circulate that Borussia Dortmund were interested in signing Ian Maatsen on loan from Chelsea.

HITC Football is now reporting that the 21-year-old is keen to make the move happen, with the outlet claiming that he has told Chelsea he wants to join the Black and Yellows this month.

The report claims that Chelsea are open to letting Maatsen go, but would prefer a permanent deal, while Dortmund want a loan deal with an option. A possible compromise would be to agree on a loan with an obligation.

Maatsen, a 21-year-old left-back and Netherlands Under-21 international, has made 15 appearances for the Blues in all competitions this season.
