Multiple Spanish sources: Union's Becker to transfer to La Liga

Spanish sports dailies "AS" and "Mundo Deportivo" - as well club-affiliated newspaper "Noticias de Gipuzkoa" - report that Union Berlin attacker Sheraldo Becker is on the verge of transferring to Real Sociedad.
Union Berlin attacker Sheraldo Becker - frequently linked with a departure from Köpenick during the current January transfer window - will soon be moving to Real Sociedad according to several Spanish media reports. Spanish sports dailies "AS" and "Mundo Deportivo", as well club-affiliated newspaper "Noticias de Gipuzkoa" claim that the Basque club has outpaced fellow La Liga side FC Villarreal by offering Union a January transfer fee.

The Dutch Suriname attacker sits on an expiring contract and would have been available this summer on a free transfer. The German capital city side nevertheless appears set to cash in on the 28-year-old, who maintains a €12 million estimated market worth in the latest transfermarkt listings. Becker has scored 24 goals in 140 appearances across all competitions for Union over the past five seasons.

Becker has netted a tally in the league thus far this year, though he did score twice in the Champions' League and once in the Pokal. His market worth has dropped by €5 million from a €17 million peak this summer amid a disappointing and injury riddled season. If Union can obtain decent market value for him, the Amsterdam native will potentially count as their most expensive outgoing transfer.
