Official: Union sign Bedia

FC Union Berlin officially unveiled Ivorian striker Chris Bedia as a new signing on Thursday evening.
After the sale of attacker Sheraldo Becker to Real Sociedad San Sebastian was confirmed earlier in the day, 1. FC Union Berlin unveiled their targeted replacement for the departed Dutch Suriname striker later in the evening. Chris Bedia joins die Eisernen on a deal good through the end of the 2026/27 season. Sky Germany reports that the Köpenick-based club have paid a transfer fee of around €2 million to Bedia's Swiss club FC Servette.

"Chris is a large and powerful attacker who can help us," FCU managing director Oliver Ruhnert noted in a club statement  "He's a very positive guy who comes to us with a lot of joy and drive and who we're really looking forward to."

"It's always been a dream of mine to play in one of the big leagues," Bedia himself added, "At 1. FC Union Berlin, I am now part of a club steeped in history that inspires many people."

Not unlike Becker, Bedia is generally regarded as a sort of "hybrid striker" who gravitates toward the flanks to fetch balls. He's scored ten goals and contributed a further three assists amid his excellent league season in Switzerland. The 27-year-old found the back of the net six more times for Servette in the Swiss club and Europa League.
