Kalajdzic perplexed after blown lead against Darmstadt: "We sh**t ourselves."

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sasa Kalajdzic hadn't quite calmed down when conducting his post-match interview following Saturday's 2-2 with Darmstadt.

The recently returned Austrian also commented on the unintentional assist he registered and an apparent injury that led to him being subbed off late.
New Eintracht Frankfurt addition Sasa Kalajdzic wasn't entirely sure what to say when conducting his post-match interview with Sky Germany following Saturday's 2-2 draw with SV Darmstadt 98. Like many observing the match closely, Kalajdzic felt it appropriate to note that his team had switched to conservative tactics far too early.

"I don't understand it either," said Sasa Kalajdzic responded when his Sky interviewer when pressed for an explanation, "I think we were clearly dominant for 70 minutes. We didn't really concede anything. We just stopped playing football and completely lost our grip."

"Darmstadt improved, but you can't just give a [2-0] lead like that away," Kalajdzic continued, "It comes down to us. It was simply dumb. I too felt that we were going to win and then suddenly we shit ourselves."

Kalajdzic also answered questions about the assist he garnered on Ansgar Knauff's 2-0 in the 51st. The Wolverhampton loanee got back on a Bundesliga scoresheet with an unintentional flick on for Knauff. The lanky striker admitted he wanted to shoot himself, joking that it ended up being the "perfect assist".

In his post-match interview last week, Kalajdzic famously commented that "whistling hamstrings" necessitated the need for him to be subbed off early. There was some trepidation this time as well when the former Stuttgart star signaled that he could not carry on near the start of second-half injury time.

Kalajdzic downplayed the scene.

"I just took a step that didn't feel right," Kalajdzic noted, "I'm not feeling as if a joint is loose or something. It shouldn't be anything too serious."
