Frustrated Kimmich comments on early substitution in loss to Werder

Joshua Kimmich has given his thoughts on Thomas Tuchel's decision to take him off in the 64th minute of Bayern's defeat to Werder Bremen.
In Bayern Munich's 1-0 loss to Werder Bremen on Sunday, Joshua Kimmich was taken off midway through the first half as Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel desperately tried to turn things around.

As one of Bayern's key players, Kimmich isn't used to being taken off early, and the 28-year-old appeared a little frustrated at not being involved in the final stages of the game.

"You had to come off. It's probably not what you're aiming for, not to be involved in a game like that, to help make sure it ends well?" Sport1 asked him after the match.

Kimmich answered bluntly: "Good answer to the question."

"So you're annoyed about the substitution?" the reporter followed up.

"Of course I always want to be on the pitch for 90 minutes, especially when we're behind. That's normal, it's the same for every player. Everyone wants to do everything they can to help the team win," Kimmich said.

Analyzing the defeat, Kimmich said it seemed as if Werder wanted it more than Bayern.

"In the last ten, fifteen minutes we had good chances. We deserved to lose because you could see that Bremen were hungrier than us. That must not happen to us in the current phase," said the German international.
